Gone again

Johnny left yesterday for more training. This time in Yuma, Arizona. I told him at least he can enjoy some warm weather for a month, lol. I swear even the year or two they are home in between deployments....they still aren't "home". He has done so much training, field problems, and even a 2 month funeral detail in the past year. I like to say I can't complain...I'd rather him be gone a month or so at a time here and there, than be gone for 15 months straight. But, I guess what I'm doing is actually complaining. ha. Oh well. I think Landon thought he was deploying when he left yesterday. Today his teacher called me and asked if his dad left, because he started crying during class saying he missed his daddy. :( I said yes, he left, but only for a month. So, we explained that to him and now he's fine. It's sad to see that they are old enough now to understand and be emotionally affected by deployment. Right now we are looking at Dec or Jan before he actually deploys overseas. So, that is a blessing. We are looking forward to our Vacation in mid February. The boys have winter break, which I also get working at the school. Johnny's leave happened to fall over the same week. So, we booked a vacation to Cancun! Can't wait. We went 2 years ago and had a blast. The boys love the water! They are little fishes. It will be a great time. Speaking of the boys, I need to get them in bed! But first I have to say Happy Anniversary to my Mom and Jay! They have been married 20 years today. I can't believe it! Mandy was the same age as Mayson when they married....it's just crazy how fast time flies. Love you guys. Bye for now.

  1. I admire both you and Mandy...it would be so hard to be away from Doug, even for a month. You have to be a strong person to be a military wife, I believe.

And Cancun! Wow, girly! I'm jealous. Can you stow me away? LOL That'll be so nice for you guys. Since Parker was diagnosed, we haven't had a 'real' vacation. Just little weekend getaways. I'd love to just get away from it all for a couple weeks. Ahhhh. Take lots of pictures while you're there!

I'll have to go wish your mom Happy Anniversary. I don't know how I missed that.

    XOXO
